TRANSFORMASI PERAN MARBOT DALAM PENGUATAN KELEMBAGAAN MASJID:STUDI PADA PENGELOLAAN SUMBER DAYA MASJID

Abstract

This research focuses on examining the evolving role of mosque caretakers (marbot) in enhancing mosque institutions and their impact on managing mosque resources at Masjid Thoriqul Jannah Telaga Dewa. This study utilized a qualitative method featuring a descriptive research framework. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, and documentation involving mosque caretakers, administrators, imams, and members of the congregation as research participants. The findings of the research show that the position of marbot has undergone substantial evolution. Marbots now go beyond just ensuring the mosque's cleanliness and security; they also engage in diverse operational tasks, community services, managing facilities and infrastructure, and promoting the mosque's social and religious activities. The existence of the marbot greatly enhances service efficiency and bolsters mosque institutions. However, marbots still encounter various challenges, such as inadequate welfare, absence of mosque management training, and poor public awareness of the strategic importance of marbots. Hence, initiatives must be implemented to enhance their abilities via training, support, and better welfare, enabling marbot to fulfill their responsibilities more effectively and professionally in assisting with mosque management
