Keywords:
consumptive behavior, financial literacyAbstract
This study aimed to analyze the effect of e-wallet usage on consumptive behavior, the effect of financial literacy on consumptive behavior, and the role of financial literacy as a moderating variable in the relationship between e-wallet usage and consumptive behavior among the people of Rejang Lebong Regency. This study employed a quantitative approach with an associative research design. The sample consisted of 351 active e-wallet users selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through online questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results showed that e-wallet usage had a positive and significant effect on consumptive behavior. Financial literacy also had a positive and significant effect on consumptive behavior. However, financial literacy was unable to moderate the relationship between e-wallet usage and consumptive behavior. These findings indicate that external factors, such as technological convenience, promotional offers, and lifestyle, play a more dominant role in influencing consumption behavior than individuals' level of financial understanding.
