The formulation of the problem is (a) What is the role of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in improving welfare according to the perspective of Islamic economics. (b) What are the inhibiting and supporting factors of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.<br>The research method in this study is a qualitative descriptive analysis method, namely by the author describing the problem based on existing data and then analyzing it further to draw conclusions. Informants in this study were carried out using purposive sampling by selecting informants who met the criteria including MSME business owners, employees, the community/customers. Data collection in this study was carried out using several techniques, namely Observation, Interviews and Documentation.<br>The results of the study stated that (a) the most visible role of MSMEs is in terms of labor absorption which can help improve the community's economy. Furthermore, MSMEs play a very important role in community welfare and increase the income of the surrounding community so that they can meet daily needs. MSMEs in the view of Islamic economics are permissible according to the rules of muamalah, everything is permissible unless there is a prohibition in the Qur'an and Hadith. (b) Internal factors that are obstacles such as limited capital, creativity, inefficient business management, human resource management, weak business networks, understanding of technology, still using old machines or tools. While external factors that can hinder MSMEs include frequent power outages, rare and expensive raw materials for making cakes, Rupit is often flooded so that it affects the distribution of finished cakes, licensing problems, Government Policy, Free Trade, Short Lifetime Product Nature, and Limited Market Access. While inhibiting factors can be said to be risks. Business risk is the potential for company problems that can cause losses. Therefore, business actors must be able to recognize risks, causal factors, and how to overcome them. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and document studies. The results indicate that time management strategies and active learning techniques applied by students have a significant impact on enhancing academic productivity. In addition, interactive teaching methods and academic guidance from lecturers, as well as institutional support programs such as soft skills training and internships, also contribute positively. However, obstacles such as social media distractions and inconsistent motivation hinder the effectiveness of these strategies. This study concludes that an integrated synergy among students, lecturers, and institutions is essential to create a conducive and productive learning environment. The Musi River served as the economic lifeline that linked the interior regions of Sumatra with the archipelagic and international waters. The economic values of the Malay community were reflected not only in trade practices but also in port management, commercial systems, and diplomatic relations driven by trade interests. Established in the 17th century, the Palembang Darussalam Sultanate became one of the major hubs in the maritime trade network of Southeast Asia. As an Islamic kingdom influenced by Malay culture, it developed an economic system based on interregional trade, riverine and maritime navigation, as well as the management of local resources. This article aims to examine the economic dynamics of the Palembang Sultanate through a historical approach, focusing on the contributions of the Malay community in developing maritime trade from the 17th to the 19th centuries. The findings reveal that the Malay economic legacy within the maritime trade structure of the Palembang Darussalam Sultanate during the 17th to 19th centuries demonstrates an integration of Islamic values, local culture, and economic strategies that were adaptive to regional dynamics. The trade system developed was not solely driven by material gain but also emphasized principles of justice, deliberation, and social sustainability. As a strategic trading center in the Strait of Malacca, the sultanate developed an economic system that integrated Islamic values with international trade practices. This study examines how the implementation of the Islamic economic system during the Palembang Sultanate, including the mechanism of zakat, waqf, and halal trade system. The research uses a historical method with a qualitative-descriptive-analytical approach. The data collection technique is carried out through library research. The Sultanate of Palembang implements a comprehensive Islamic economic system with the following characteristics: (1) An organized zakat system through the baitul mal institution as an instrument of wealth redistribution and a source of state revenue; (2) Productive waqf management for the development of religious infrastructure, education, and public facilities; (3) The implementation of the principle of muamalah in trading activities by avoiding usury, gharar, and maysir. The Islamic economy during the Palembang Sultanate showed the success of the implementation of the sharia economic system on a royal scale that was able to integrate spiritual and material aspects. Utilizing a library research method with a descriptive-analytical approach, the study investigates changes in economic structures, livelihood patterns, and the economic adaptation of the Malay community in Palembang from the colonial period onward. Data were obtained through literature review of both primary and secondary sources, including historical documents, government reports, and previous academic studies. The findings indicate that the Malay community in Palembang underwent significant economic transformation in the postcolonial period. These changes involved a transition from a traditional economy based on agriculture and river trade to a more complex and diversified economic structure. Factors influencing this transformation include Indonesian government economic policies, infrastructure modernization, changes in the education system, and integration with the national economy. As part of the Malay-Islamic civilization, its economic system reflected a synthesis of Islamic values and local practices. This study aims to explore the characteristics of the Malay economic model during the era of the sultanate as a historical inquiry that reflects the economic identity of the archipelago. It examines the economic dynamics of Malay society within the context of the Palembang Darussalam Sultanate. Using a historical approach and cultural analysis, this article investigates the structure, values, and mechanisms of traditional economic systems based on Islamic norms and local wisdom. The findings indicate that the Malay economic model within the Palembang Sultanate was built on a foundation of Islamic values and local customs that mutually reinforced one another. This system emphasized not only economic efficiency but also upheld ethics, distributive justice, and social solidarity. With a structure involving the active roles of the sultan, religious scholars, and indigenous communities, the sultanate successfully created an economic ecosystem oriented toward collective welfare. Economic activities such as trade, agriculture, waqf management, and zakat distribution were conducted in an integrated manner and reflected Sharia principles inseparable from local wisdom. Even in the face of colonial pressure and global change, this economic system demonstrated resilience and adaptability while maintaining its cultural and spiritual character.
